Hello this thread has been made to show all you users habbo hotel history.

The Hotel's original idea came from a 1999 project by Sampo Karjalainen and Aapo Kyrola, namely, Mobiles Disco, created for the band Mobiles. The idea was successful, and so Karjalainen and Kyrölä created Hotel Goldfish.
The name was scrapped, and replaced with a new name, Habbo Hotel, and in August 2000, they launched the service to Finland.
The service was then launched in the United Kingdom on 1st January 2001, and has since been expanded to over 30 countries over five continents in total.

In the beginning...

Loads of features added when private rooms were added (private rooms have since been renamed Guest Rooms)...

Glitches

Free Credits!
It's true! There was, once or twice, free credit glitches. But there are NO free Credit glitches any more - so don't get scammed!

The first time was with SMS (Mobile texting for credits)...
Habbos were able to send off for credits in the normal way, receive the code and then enter it into the box like usual. But at the time, you entered the code into a page instead of on Habbo. So when the credit code had been entered, the Habbo could keep clicking Submit on the page loads of times before the page had a chance to load!

Scripting

Habbo Mutants
Using simple scripting tools scripters were able to manipulate Habbo by changing their skin, hair and clothes colours. This type of scripting was called Habbo Mutants. By doing this, it was also possible to make things like clothes and different parts of the Habbo body transparent. So you can imagine everyones suprise when a streaker runs though the room

. Equally disturbing was walking in a room to find a carrot floating mid-air, held by an invisible scripter!
Scripted Photos

Photo scripting was one of the best types of scripting ever around. Although it was annoying getting errored, scripters could make amazing rooms just by clicking on a photo

. When you opened the photo, it executed the code inside it just like an EXE program on a windows computer. All the following could be done by scripted photos:

Hobba alerts that always seemed to say "DDK PHL1PP1NG PWN5 J00" (but they could say whatever the scripter wanted).
Hobba calls that showed you the "Hobba Channel" window that normally only hobbas can see (note that you couldnt see anyone elses CFHs).
Popup furni, including trophies etc, where you could make them lime green or whatever colour you wanted!
Fake bans - acting like error photos.
Fake credits - which you couldnt spend and dissapeared later.
Clones - you could have your own pet Jibbi running around

Habbo Mods and Hobbas -

In earlier versions of the hotel, Hobba alerts also looked different. Instead of coming up in a Habbo interface style box, it came up in an Internet Explorer alert, like shown in the screenshot below:

What the Hotel used to be called:
The Finnish Habbo Hotel was called Hotel Kultakala, which means Hotel Goldfish. This is before Daisy founded Habbo Limited.

Ownership:
The ownership of Habbo Hotel has changed over the years. Originally an entrepeneur called Dee Edwards saw Hotel Goldfish and decided that it would be a really profitable business to bring into the UK. Her Habbo name was Daisy. So she founded Habbo Limited, and Sulake set up a hotel for the UK. No one is completely sure what happened after that, but they think Dee Edwards done an incredibly stupid thing - she left Habbo after making about a million pounds, and sold her part of the business to Sulake, who have since made millions upon millions from it!

Who created Habbo Hotel:
Aapo and Sampo invented FUSE Technology, which is the code that Habbo is programmed in. Using FUSE, they made a few multiuser applications such as Snow War and Mobiles Disco - and founded Sulake.

How many different Habbo Hotels are there:
There are 16 different Habbo Hotels in April 2005.

The first Habbo:
Aapo is the Habbo with the credit number 00000001, meaning he was the first Habbo
