Default Where is the work for teenage job seekers?

For the past year and a half i have been searching for a job, along with thousands of other teenagers were i live.
There was a petition signing in the city centre for the council to help teenagers find work, but nothings been done. ASB is on the rise now, but what can they expect from people who have no money and nothing to do.

I don't think many people are actually willing to hire teenagers as they are usually less experienced and the hours they work for are alot less than normal adults , there's nothing the council can do if no one wants to hire someone.

Usually supermarkets are looking for younger staff. Also fast food places such as McDonalds and Burger King are usually hiring young staff.

Better to look around Christmas. Lots of shops hire specifically for Christmas. Show them your potential and they have no reason to keep you on

There is something called age discrimination. Whether it applies to under 16 year old's I don't know, obviously they have reasons not to take on a 12 year old.

I shouldn't see their being a problem with you working during the Christmas holidays and stuff, or on the run up to Christmas. There are certain laws in place to say how many hours your are legally allowed to work for your age. You obviously are not allowed a full time job. You can read up 15-16 year old job information here: http://www.connexions-direct.com/ind...eContentID=120.

It does say on that page, Shops, restaurants, supermarkets and hotels often employ young people.

their is a lot of interest around Christmas though. I'd look for somewhere like Argos, Woolworths. You'll need to put a CV together though to take in, and make it good. If you have chance pop into your local Connexions center, they can help you with CV's. They helped me with mine last year
