I tried to change my password today and got this:

Sorry, you may not use a password that you have used in the past 3600 days.

Please go back and try again.
That's ridiculous, over 9 years before you can re-use a password. Why??

It is a safety risk as others have pointed out. It is easy to make a new one anyway even based on it if you have to.
    Example:
Previous Password could of been gangsta1
    New Password could be g4ngst41

Plus it would be harder for people to guess it then anyway as it is using a mixture of letters and numbers. Trust me it's not that bad, on another forum every couple of weeks I was made to change my password and that couldn't of been a previous one either so be thankful you can keep your current one for a while.
The other day I was in a toilet.
A voice came from the cubicle next to me: "Hello mate, how are you doing?"
I didn't want to be rude, so I said, "Not too bad, thanks."
I heard the voice again. "So, what are you up to?"
Again I answered, "Just having a quick ****... How about yourself?"
Then I heard him say "Sorry, mate, I'll have to call you back. I've got some **** in the cubicle next to me answering everything I say."

Hardly, you just take the old password and recycle it and put it together again using a mixture of numbers instead of words and vice-versa. You would need a completely random password to be safe "/

I think for forum members that are not staff we don't need to be this strict, and allow them to keep using the same pass.
But I don't know if this is easy to change, it has to be this strict for the staff accounts for sure.

Other than mods and above, I don't see why anyone would need that amount of security.

Its honestly not that much security, to force you to change your password once a month? I have to change mine every 14 days I just use a random password generator.

I believe its once a month for members right?
