what people don't seem to grasp is that the new rules that are coming into place will allow them to make you do it.

I just turn my phone off and hide it in the secret compartment of my bag because that way if I lose my bag someone will think oh only crap school stuff here and drop it again .

no surprise. my school doesnt allow us to bring mobile phones to school like when i was in secondary 2. then they unbanned it saying that we can bring phones but cannot use it during school.

during the ban tho, theyre allowed to search us and if we're caught with one, theyll confiscate it and their parents can collect it a month later.

    Exactly..

They can't force you to give them it, it's your property.

The only time you can be searched at school is if they think you have a weapon, but you still have to agree to it - Otherwise they have to call the police

If a teacher went to take my mobile, I would simply have told them to 'F OFF' lol, it's just something I don't let anyone take, my mates hardly get a look in at my mobile, and no I'm not embarrassed of it.

i saw that on gmtv yesterday morning, i think people should be penalised if using it in class, but in breaks it should be allowed.

I would refuse, I don't care if it's law. I'm not one to give it in.
