But whether or not you earn it or not, you can't control others pointless repping you :S

That is indeed an option that gets around the pointless rep rules although there's really not much we can do about that because we have no control over what users do outside the Forum.
The best we can do in such a situation is admire the effort the user went to find a valid post to rep and move on to the next comment. Fortunately that is a rarity as once a valid post is found the comment issued often gives it away as rep that's been requested. Another dead giveaway is the time the post that received the rep was posted, issuing rep for a valid post made 6 months ago has quite obviously been hunted down and targeted for reputation.

I don't bother reporting it anymore as I usually lose 50-100 rep whenever I do seeing as people don't always leave comments and whoever removes them doesn't check the post we get repped for.

Actually, I handle that thread and I check every post related to every reputation point that seems suspicious in any way, shape or form. Any reputation I have removed from you was either because other users were 'just spreading', issuing reputation with the expressed intent for you to rep back or issuing it with a pointless/short comment.
50-100 rep points every time? I only look through your last 30 days reputation, once I look at it once I don't go back and look at it again and randomly remove rep that I didn't remove last time you reported a negative rep. Although you may of lost 100 rep points previously there is no way you will lose that much again unless you have received 100 points worth of pointless reputation over the last 30 days.

Who are you to say how hard I check? I check the initial post content, the post content of previous posts in the thread, the thread context and the overall tone of comments posted in the thread, don't just assume that I don't do my job properly because you have a difference in opinion as to whats pointless.

As for the -rep you've just issued me; that would be considered as a pointless comment as I attempted to help you in answering your comment in this thread, the comment you actually posted in the reputation is also lacking a point purely because you did not have a valid reason to -rep and -repped for the sake of attempting to prove your point, henceforth I have to remove it.

i dont report reps, haven't done for a while, and my rep seems to go up alot more... and no I don't get all pointless +reps lol it says report rep problems, +reps aint the problem yet they remove them. but reporting them always gets ur rep down, I want wayne back =[
