The PAPI lights are red, but the plane could be at the right altitude, the PAPI goes by the camera height for some reason, not the plane height.

That's only because your messing with the views. Its al right in the cockpit. Nice shots

After you change it, do you have to activate it by pressing NAV1 on the radio stack

no, you change the nav 1 freq which automatically activates the nav1 button..
