It is! I'm charging but the light that is supposed to light up when charging hasn't lit up

Oh and when i flick the power button into 'hold' I see the hold LED light up a TINY bit.

Should be orange when charging, check the wires aren't crossed or bent or whatever.

EDIT: If I put the power button into the hold position when its supposed to be charging the hold lights up orange but a little faintly.

The model I've got is PSP-1004 k according to its box.

there isnt a hold light its just a simple yellow plastic thing

try fiddling with the cable a bit or something, is it new?
