you have to look half decent before anyone would start to care about you.

ok, heres one, its pouring down with rain and you're in your town centre, and you see a long haired filthy tramp lying on the floor, drunken and stinking of urine and booze.

you cant tell me you're going to go over to him and put your arm round him and invite him over to dinner now are you!?

There's nothing you can do to "not think you're ugly" other then change your appearane to suit you.

Formerly known as Jesus, but some guy messaged me on Myspace asking me to change my name, so he could have it.

    Now, I'm the almighty Menshevik.

I had the exact same issues.

Last year before the Summer holidays I had no confidence whatsoever. I didn't have the guts to talk on the phone, walk into a shop on my own, get the bus (well I still don't like getting the bus), and most other standard stuff.

I went to my local music venue and I did this 1 week course where you get put into bands with people you most likely won't know, and you have a week to get atleast 1 cover complete and as many songs as you can before the Friday. On the Friday you do a soundcheck and finally you play a gig in front of parants and normal Square-goers (Harlow Square is what the venue's called, www.harlowsquare.com - rock school is the course). The amount of people is normally around 150 people, 200 or more when sold out.

This really boosted my confidence and afterwards I had made a whole lot of friends. I'm now more confident than ever, and I'm not scared to do most things alone now.

Maybe if you did a similar course (or maybe something different, I only did the course because I'm a musician) then you could possibly benefit from it as much as I did. I've noticed that I don't really care about my looks as much as I used to, I just ignore them and I just give it a swing when it comes to girls. It's who you are inside, and if a girl (and even your friends) can't recognise this, then they're not worth having.
why you not like my pie?!

    must... rep... smiddy.

no-ones gonna get to know you if your butt ugly so you can't know if they have a good personality or not. I have a list of 4 things I like about myself on the mirror and I look at them and I say them to myself while walking down the stairs, makes me feel well good.

Everybody is different. What is beautiful to one person is ugly to another and vice versa. Please don't be fooled by the mass media/tv/magazine stereotypical view of what is beautiful and what is not. Be proud of who you are and as somebody else said take pride in your appearance and avoid anybody who is obsessed by 'looks being everything' - they are very shallow people
