We don't need renewable sources as Global Warming doesn't exist, even if it did China would still be building one power station a week. We have police unhappy with their pay, pensions are collapsing, crime is going up, a leader who travels the world preaching democracy yet won't even give his own people a vote on the EU issue. Britain needs the money more than any other country, and considering it's OUR money. China makes so much money, so why are we GIVING them more?

I agree that we don't want Cameron, but to be honest recently he's looking more like i'd like him to and giving tougher messages compared to last few years when he's dithered on. I'd rather have the Conservatives in (with a crap leader) rather than Labour.

you realise we want renewable energy sources because oils going to run out right..... right... and coal goes as well
nothing to do with global warming,

Perhaps you should google it, because when the oil does run out in 20 years time, i still want power.

You're ranting at me for no reason there Daniel, I know Britain's situation is absurd money wise currently. But the thing is, we've lost all power which we used to have, this is a blunt attempt for us to make a new allie for when we reach rock bottom (it can still get worse? :/) - and with Gordon Brown in power, we will keep on declining. But, we don't need a new party, we need a new, dominant, no-nonsense leader. Which none of the other candidates can also offer, Cameron is all talk no action.

And, at the above post, it's somewhere like Sudan, they have a massive oil well underneath them, it's not running out, we just don't have access to the other places.

We don't use all of a Oil well when we find it, we only use about 1/3 or 2/3 of it. There will still be plenty of Oil on 20 years time and even 50 years time. I don't need to use google for pathetic eco-green arguements on how we're all going to die in the next 20 years thanks, been there, done that :8

We are going Nuclear anyway so renewables would count, they also cost more than you get back from them so when you have wind farms your making a financial loss as their lifespan is only 10/15 years.

We can still be friends with China if we keep trade with them, ultimatly it is hard to keep ties with a Communist country but £50 million pounds won't buy you love. China will always be silent at the moment because they get their income from us and Europe, if anything were to happen between us we'd just threaten to boycott Chinese goods. (Sorry if it came over a bit harsh )

Oh and on the point of Oil, spot on Thomas.

Britain will provide £50 million (BD19m) from government funds to support investment in energy efficiency, renewables, clean coal and carbon capture and storage in China, said Brown.
Earlier, Brown stopped off at Taiyang Gong Power Station in Beijing, which was partly financed through British carbon credits.
The power station, which will become fully operational in November, is the first in China to be fuelled by natural gas instead of coal.
Isn't natural gas a fossil fuel? Because that's gonna run out too

Improve their home country before trying to improve the world :/
Seriously the money could have been used to help people in the UK yet they give a large sum like that to China , Also what are they going to do for the 2012 Olympics, I doubt they'll be able to afford to pay it off without tripling the taxes now .

I'm aware, unfortunately we don't have dire straight up politicians running the country, do we?

You sound surprised, just cos I don't read the daily mail, doesn't mean I don't know my stuff

For those who bring up the Northern Rock situation, they're planning to take that out of Bonds (http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/5471e548-c...0779fd2ac.html), meaning whoever buys out Northern Rock will have to pay back the money over a number of years with maturity added also. In the end, you just know they'll turn out good if Richard Branson gets it, anything he touches turns to gold.

Gawd I forgot about that, they're going to be such a disaster. I remember sitting in a bar in Paris with my Dad when they where announcing the results. Most people will remember that it was between London & Paris and all the French groaned when we won the Olympics, and my dad shouted out a loud 'DAMN!' - And I had a big grin on my face as I was the only person pleased, my Dad has always thought they'd be a disaster, and he's going to be so right, I changed my mind on this a while ago. We won the Olympics on how cheaply we could do it, on about 2 billion pounds I recall, it's already at about 9 billion pounds and set to rise :S

    I'm dreading 2012, Britain's biggest muck-up.

The worst thing about it is that almost everyone on here will be working age and will have to pay taxed , Seeing as there aren't going to be many people at working age in a few years time the taxes will have to increase to be able to pay the pensions for people , Also we will have to pay for the Olympics (I bet half the Londoners don't want it to be here anyway), So yay we will have like 15% of our wages taken unfairly
