the moon was a planet. thats what im trying to say. if your saying it isnt, then thats your point of view because it was part of earth and you class the earth is a planet therefor, the moon is a planet.

im sure you can get planets orbiting other planets?

No that would mean that it is a piece of rock that somehow detached from the Earth and is now orbiting it, therefore making it a moon. A planet does not orbit a planet.

If a planet orbits another planet that would make it a moon. There isn't a physical difference between a planet and a moon, the difference is purely lexical.
