No, I'd stick to the speed limiting, knowing in my mind that if I do have an accident, the result is not going to be as bad as me driving at 70 in a 40 zone.

the way i look at it - it wouldn't take a millisecond for the car to hit a small stone in the road, flip over and turn into a flaming fireball.

no, this was early morning, on a 999 call, so bear in mind if there was any traffic it would have moved out of the way for the car. and these are qualified police officers trained to drive at high speed.

The only time you should really be paying full attention to the road is when you're driving in snow. You seem like the kind of person I would be stuck behiend on the highway doing below the speed limit and constantly using your brakes. As for the zebra lines, most people use them to pass another slow moving car and for the animal in the road, you use your feet to brake not your hands and I guess if you can't brake fast enough the animal is sol.

I think he means the lines you get in the middle of a wide road (normally a duel carriage way) not a zebra crossing

No you just jump to conclusions far to quickly. Just because the Policemen was having a joke and laughing when going through a speed camera, does not mean he considers himself 'Cool' nor does he think he is 'Cool' because he arrests hardcore thieves, whoever said he arrested hardcore thieves anyway.
