Default Thought my Mum would understand

Today, I told my sister I was gay. She's was ok with it and supportive.

I told my Mum and she didn't understand. She said we're gonna have a talk later. Out of all the people I've told, I thought she would have been the person who understood the most.

My friend has said that if she can't take it then I can stay with her while it's all blown over.

Exactly. If she doesn't like the fact you are gay and can't handle it then living with your friend would be the best option.

This is exacly what I'm worried about happening when I tell my mum.
But, back on topic; I think if you explain it all to her it should be better, if not, can you live like with your dad or with a friend?
i've been here for over 8 years and i don't know why

When my friend came out his mother and father didn't belive him... his younger sister cried for like... 2weeks and his older sister was fine with it...

everyone reacts in different ways... i'm not really sure why... personally it'd have no knock-on effect to find that out about anyone I am close to... I dono why it's such a big thing to some people =/

Its ok with most younger people (Meaning 16+) as its much more common than it used to be, but with older people, its not as normal and back then it was moraly wrong.

I know my mum would be fine with it, but my granddads a bit homophobic, and I see him alot

If your mums still funny about it, then your best living with your friend. Shes maybe just a bit shocked? Or maybe been aranging some sort of wedding for you :p

Well, First - Well done for actually having the guts to actually come out to 2 people in one day, thats quite a big acheivement itself.

Your mum may just be shocked and might just need a bit of time to get over it. This is exatcly what i was afraid of when telling my mum, i thought that she would kick me out etc. However, she understood - I think she was a bit shocked at first (like most people would be).

In 'the little talk' she may give you later, shes bound to give you the 411 on desiese, relationships, school etc - as this is what my mum did. If she doesnt like it, then tough. She cant change what you are and she needs to get that into her head, and if she cant, then you will have to move out as you cant continue living with somone who your supposed to trust when theyre the total opposite and dont like who you are.

Just a bit of advice as I know what its like to be in this position
    Thanks
