You should stick with black and white for now but change the colour of the patterns.

Like you can put

• Red
• Blue
• Violet
• Deep Sky Blue
• Green
• Lime Green

I imagine they would look good. Preview them on Photoshop using your sisters model before printing them (I think that's what you do anyway)
