Prezwalski Horse : There was only 13 left in the world, now, after a big breeding program, there is hundreds.

Quagga ; Now extinct, was extinct 100 years ago but they are on another specail breeding program that has nearly brought them back to life!

No, I don't have hope. When I made my post I meant like everything will be gone one day so I don't see why I or anyone else should try to save the animals. Let nature take it's course. We are the dominant species at the moment. Let us kill animals. Nature will take it's course and kill us eventually. I mean come on it's not like the polar bear we know today will be here in a thousand years anyway.

On the other post. I guess I would be contradicting myself if I said I didn't want to be killed. I am a hypocrit (SP?) I would try and save my life. Don't animals try and save their lives if they are being shot at or chased?

I agree with undertaker I would like animals to be tested on for curing diseases and for any other reason.

The only reason I don't think they should test on animals is because I think they should do it on people on death row instead of senselessly killing them.

They don't try and save themslevs in the way we do. We are a far more superior race obviosuly. We can plea to each other but animals cannot do that, they can either run or try and fight back, and if they do fight back people say they are dangerous savage beings. When one species of animal 'sqaures up' to another they can obviosuly use there own language but thy cannot communcate with humans therefore they have almost 0% chance.
Surely animals deserve life aswell as us? Animals are living organims and have feelings as much as we do, there is no reason to just go and kill for the sake of killing. You wouldn't kill a human being for fun, why kill another species?

Don't call people idiots. That is his opinion. Everyone is entitled to there opinion. Before you go blaming other people think first, not being open minded and blaming people results in arguments, fights and in some cases murder, that isn't ruining the world?

I'm not sure on my views with animal testing. I obviosuly don't believe in killing/torturing animals but like you say, if i had a family member in need of treatment that animal testing could have cured i would probs want it.

It's a toughy, and luckily more people are donating their bodies to science so slowy and hopefully we will be able to cut out animal testing.

EDIT: Mary, you make a good and debatable point. But there are lwas, human rights for example. Plus should humans be tested? Is that wrong? I'm not really sure where i lie on this. It would never pass though no matter what and even if it did they would have to get said persons (whats the word? allowence?) anyway, they would have to get that first.

You have a valid point there. I just don't see the point in trying to protect something if I can't protect it forever so sometime someone will kill it so I don't see why I should bother.

On the concept of donating bodies to medical faciities, I could never do that. I beleive your body has to stay intact to have an afterlife.

Lol i suppose i see where you are coming from. And i know everything dies eventualy. But don't you think it deserves to live as long as possible?
And why would you want to just let sights of beauty just disappear? Polar bears, Pandas, they are magnificent species and an awe to behold. Your kids may not know what they are, may never see one.

And i too belive in afterlife but never thought about it deeply. So do you not believe in donating your body to science?

And i hope to change your mind, even just make you slightly more conscious...
