I think the arguements should stop. We do not know what this project is yet, however from what I have seen, it looks very promising.

Give them some slack, let them develop the site/product/service, then give some negative feedback at a later date, if needs be.

I have read this point but you have to learn to deal with harsh and controversial criticism. If you don't learn to accept that some people give it to boost what peoples work is like, then you have a long way to go.

I know that not all php.net says is harsh, however most of the time it is. Why does the mysterious force do it? Because he wants to push people, if not then they will continually publish and show the same drivel to everyone.

If people get angry and feel bad over criticism then they shouldn't post their work because a forum is a place for free speech and that is exactly what people will do.

I tend to 'piss off' people who are too young to understand the concept of getting bashed down to the ground in order to regain a new placement by taking another path, may it be shorter or longer, the outcome will indeed be more successful than the previous path you were overcome with self praise with.

Take a new, longer, harder path and don't be so proud with yourself until somebody else confirms that your result is worthy.
