HostSuite Logo - Why the other thread was closed

I have the common sense not to start a huge php project as web services isnt my priority in life. Just give up now. Maybe giving up will get you a little respect as now your just being stubborn for the sake of a logo that is just abit of text you have taken from the logo that caused this arguement.

You cant tell people to grow up when you are acting like this. Go get a pair mate and then come back.

So if i found the microsoft font and typed in Microsoft, but in blue would it be mine? would it hell! Microsoft would sue my ****.

Actually where businesses are concerned, two companies can have exactly the same name aslong as they are not selling/doing the same thing.

So if decided to start up a company called 'Microsoft' as long as what you are selling/doing doesn't conflict with what they are selling/making/doing then you are alright, obviously the company logo could not be identical as people would get confused, but if it was a diffrent color, and a free to use font then it would be ok.

I don't no if anyone else has seen/heard this but i was in the work van the other day and i seen something like 'Sams' on the back of a taxi (Ok so it's a taxi firm) roughly 5 minutes later i see a vans with 'Sams' on the side, similar writing but they were a delivery service, therefore none of them could sue the other.

Anyway thats just about your microsoft point.

I totally 100% agree with Darren here, the way i see it, the text used on the logo is a free to use font, anyone could use it at any time, so that's fine..?

The colors are lighter than the ones used on Jake's logo therefore they are not the same, and nobody can copyright colors anyway, becuase then nobody would have free choice of them, so theres no problem there..

And it look to me like he has lower the optacity, which is a nice effect on PhotoShop which anyone can use.

He has just got inspiration from a diffrent logo, everyone gets inspiration from somewhere, so as far i can see this is not a rip.

Give him a break, look forward to seeing your project Darren.

Am I the only one who is thinking why a designer can't design his own logo... :rolleyes:
