    I think maybe Tom is saying that if you were a passenger in a commercial plane on a crosswind landing, you wouldnt be able to see the runway, which would make you feel about worried where you were maybe? And as a pilot, you can obv. see the runway etc.

    I may be completly wrong though.

    Lol... Fair enough.

    Solong as them/me up front can see the runway, what the hell does it matter? - Infact in a commercial jet, with autoland what the hell does it matter if nobody can see the runway?

    The fact is, you, as a passenger, is not meant to be able to see the runway on finals...

    I think he is saying if you did see the runway on finals as a passenger in a crosswind landing, you would be slightly worried.
