    They have been planning this since 2005 http://www.guardian.co.uk/money/2005.../arts.artsnews

    they are being released in the next few months, and the old coins will stay in circulation with them

    I don't really like the design that much, doens't really make much sense. It would easily confuse you as I'm used to the destinctive old ones.
