PS3 - System update help

Hey, my uncles got a ps3 today, and were hsving trouble getting past the system update 2.7 i think. its stuck on 0% for like 20 minutes now. any help? ;<

I've had problems updating in the past, I reset my PS3 and tried to download it again and it worked.

hes told me now, hes tried before, never worked and reset, so ive tried the settings fresh, still no luck.

Have you tested the internet connection?

hmm, do you think an ipod would work as a flash disk? to try it out and see if it works that way?
