Temporary Insurance?

Hiya.

Basically - I have my driving test next month lol. :S:rolleyes:

And I am wanting to get insured on my mums car temporarily as a named driver (with a provisional license) just for the 28 days or so to get some extra home practise in to boost my chances of passing.

I'm struggling to find decent temporary insurance providers though.

Moneysupermarket and all them just seem to give annual providers, so can anyone suggest me somewhere good (and cheap hehe).

Try an insurance broker or virgin money, but your looking at 200 at least!

I've heard of one which is <£100 for a 28 day period on a provisional liscence, I can't remember it off the top of my head, I'll have to hunt for it.. I'll get back to you.

I know when you buy a car you get 30 days insurance, and a 30 day temp tag. In America when you have your learners, you are insured on whatever car you drive aslong as the owner is with you. Maybe you should just be added to your mom's plan?

Osto, just get insured on your parents policy and then if you don't pass (which I can't see happening) they can always cancel that portion of the policy.

Yeh but it's like 150 deposit, then like 60 quid a month just to be put on as a provisional.

It aint really worth paying a 150 deposit when I might end up passing and it coulda costed me 80 or summit... No what imeen?

Well, think about it? Are you a good driver? or are you not? Do you feel like you ACTUALLY need it, or are you just paranoid to fail? Do people compliment you on your driving, or are they on the edge of their seats?

Like, driving isn't rocket science, aslong as you are careful, drive the speed limit and just focus on doing everything right once.

I remember my road test, we had to park and we had to turn the wheels a certian way when I was parking up hill and then you had to put the e-brake on. I don't even remember what way to turn the wheels and I never use my e-brake (unless it's snowing, and I pull it in a parking lot!). Half the stuff I learned I never used, and I just did it to prove I could drive a car!

yeah, there's stupid rules in the test. I always cross my arms and drive with one hand, but you fail in the test if you do that.

Since I've had my car aligned, it drives straight as an arrow, so I catch myself driving with no hands on straight sections of highway!
