I have noticed that the English don't do that as much as the Irish, but everyone should be supportive of whatever country they're from.

They should, but I think people should be expected to be proud of their country without putting up flags outside of their houses. I just think it's really cheap and nasty. At the World Cup or any other important events, I think that's OK, as long as it's taken down afterwards. I think it's an eyesore. If we lived on a council estate, I suppose it'd be a bit different. We put our Christmas lights up at Christmas, and on January 6th, we take them down again. They have had theirs up for three years, and I think that the England flag could do the same.

I understand if you mean like a tatty flag flown out a window that looks like its going to fall out, but I think if it was a flagpole and it looked clean and not rusting it should be ok?

I'm on about people who have big plastic England flags pinned across the front of their house, although this is a strange plastic flag pole stuck to the front of the house which looks like it's going to fall off at the first sign of wind.

Who in their right mind would apply for planning permission for a flag pole for their flag anyway?

Ah yes I know what you mean I have seen those plastic flag things and I agree with you, they don't look nice.

Doesn't really bother me, but I agree it is a bit council estate-ish.

Where I live we have a housing authority and we have certian deadlines for decorations and anything they don't like on the outside of your house, they can tell you to remove it. Currently we have a broken-down car sitting in our front yard, we have 3 weeks left to remove it!
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.
