Thinning your hair wont help spike it up. It depends how short your hair is tbh, if its short then it will be harder to do. Just get loads of putty stuff in your hair and rub it through you hair, then perfect it, and then hairspray it!!

Depends how heavy, if its like mine if i wanted to spike i would have to thin it as its simply too heavy. But then agian you can have it too thinned out and it looks crap lol. Originally Posted by Papershop

Doing big spikes everyday = mega gunky hair.
