My dad called me the other day saying he was coming to New York with his girlfriend and her son in 2 days. He arrived today and not only did I miss a day of school to meet him, I also missed a day of work.
My parents are split and I live with my mom and my dad lives in Canada. I knew they were coming sometime, but this of all weeks when my mom isn't even home! It was the most awkward time meeting my dad outside our old house (where we lived together as a family), and just having him here without my mom.. It's like I'm with a whole other family.. in my mom's house? I don't expect you to understand what it feels like, but it feels pretty weird.
My mom knows that they are here and she didn't sound too happy about it. This is seriously the most awkward situation I have ever been in.

I kinda of know what you mean, if my parents were split and it was just me there in charge of the house with them there it would feel quite awkward lol

Ease up a little. Just keep talking to them. I wouldn't know how you feel as my parents are together. Go with the flow, my advice.

I had to go get groceries today.. no problem! MAUREEN MADE ME A LIST, A LIST.. I realize she's trying to make it easier, but I'm not her slave. I don't know if I mentioned that her son and his friend came too, and she volunteered them to come with me shopping..

and and it gets better, he/she didn't give me jack for the food. I used my mastercard for it, so I will just send him the bill for it when it comes hahahahah
