Oh come on. We all have our own opinions. I choose Windows because I like to game. Why did you choose Mac?

This is my $00.02!
I don't think you've given Windows a fair shot either to be totally truthful. Personally, I've used both OSes, and Windows I prefer.
I don't have to go to them, simply watch them online. Also if I'm a Mac fan boy then you are a Micky fanboy, simple as. Apple price their products perfectly. Sure the original product is highly priced however software and OS are extremely cheap. You are more likely to spend more money filling a Windows computer than you are a Mac. For instance the Vista Ultimate is $319 from the Microsoft website while Mac OS X Leopard is only $129 from the Apple website. There alone you're saving hundreds, and before anyone says "the Home edition is cheaper" the fact of the matter is Mac OS X is the full edition, which Ultimate is so they compare. Even the Home edition if more expensive and it's limited.
But a iMac is thousands of dollars with a Duo processor. PCs are less than ONE thousand dollars with a quad core.
A lot less than what he stole in the first place. The only reason Bill Gates invests into Apple is to get friendly with them, otherwise he'd be completely left broke as he'd no longer have access to the latest ideas and projects.
It's not long before Microsoft will be knocked to the ground by a combination of Apple and Google. It's been long coming but will happen soon.
This wont happen. May I please ask politely where you're getting your information from? You hate Windows with a passion, but with no evidence to support your statements. Gates couldn't care less about what the boys over at Apple think of him.
Microsoft will live, their marketing schemes are genius. Google...indexing features...MacOS...indexing features. Vista is accused of taking this from MacOS? MacOS and Vista took these both from someone else. MacOS is also guilty of taking ideas from others as well.
Gates made it a habit of his, to invest in companies that sued him.
Okay Microsoft fan boys, here's a pure fact. Bill Gates was a staff member at Apple who was later fired and stolen ideas and concepts from Apple to create Windows. So if it wasn't for Apple then your operating system would of never of existed. Also when Apple was going bust it was because of bad management, it was infact Steve Jobs who returned to Apple and saved them by creating the iPod. Microsoft had nothing to do with it.
Apple > Microsoft and everyone knows it. Even Windows developers use Mac OS to develop things like widgets and GUIs, just go to a Windows convention and you'll soon see.
Oh dear, no this isn't true. Gates worked for Apple as a developer and got into arguments with management, it was never proven that he stole their source (though it's most likely), he didn't want anything to do with Apple anymore. Gates had the same thing Apple did, and made it better. Only 3 out of 50 users use a Mac, even less use the MacOS. All of the users using Windows are using it for a reason. As long as we don't do something irrational, Windows will function

DOS had nothing to do with Apple, our "little operating system" would have still existed.
Microsoft needs competition, although MacOS isn't as popular as Windows, it still motivates Microsoft for someone to beat out. Without competition Windows would not be as it is today.
Okay so how come when I attempted to install Vista onto a "VISTA READY" laptop it failed 7 times before it even installed. Then once it was all I got was constant problems involving common software such as Adobe CS3. I even lost all sound as the sound drivers wouldn't work. I ended up having to revert to XP the same day. Where as when I upgraded from Tiger to Leopard it was a 40 minute install and that was it. I could continue on where I left off. It was so easy that I actually done it during my Software Development class. Nothing works on Vista where as everything works on Leopard, even Vista!
There is just no competition now, Vista is trying so, so hard to be like Mac OS and it's failing so much.
Most users use Windows, and with XP on the road to death most users will use Vista. I installed Vista in less than an hour on 3 machines. None of which received a single error message. Vista doesn't ship with a dock and "finder", or many other things. Vista's not trying to be like Leopard at all- there's no need to.
Mac OS X is a million times better than Vista or XP. There is no competition between them. No viruses, no spyware, no crashing, no lag, no errors and no blue screen. Just face it, if it's Windows it sucks and sucks bad. Before you try and say "You don't get the same software for Mac", exactly you get lot better stuff. For example you don't get an Panic software for Windows. Without Panic I wouldn't be able to live. The only thing Windows has that Apple doesn't is users.
If you can't afford a Mac then that's your own fault not the people who can afford quality and performance.
I find this review very one faced. MacOS does have positive qualities, however it has poor qualities too. You can get lag on Mac OS X. MacOS has few advantages when it comes to gaming. The best Mac system is a duo core, and is twice the price of a quad core PC (if you didn't like Windows to that extent you can ALWAYS use Ubuntu, spending an extra $1,000 isn't necessary). The virus advantage can be justified too. Windows Onecare takes care of Vista user's systems, and Trend Micro or AVG is sufficient too. With these your computer is protected. I've not received a BSOD in years and years. You need to use bootcamp or parallels to play Flight Simulator. The software cannot be better if it doesn't exist.
Depending on what one's intentions are with a computer, is a factor when it comes to operating system.
I tend to agree with you. SP1 makes a tremendous improvement!
agreed, in-fact with a tool called vlite, one can slim down Vista, and run it on less powerful systems.
Not true, I don't like the Mac OS as a whole, the hardware is good although its expensive but I cant help but feel OSX is just trying to look good. Yes Microsoft steal features etc and I hate that but at the end of the day in my opinion they are coming out with a better and more supported product so I buy it.
I agree that Microsoft use very interesting marketing schemes.Seek and destroy so to speak. I don't have a problem with it, it's interesting to read about the numerous law suits Microsoft has pending.
Gates and Allen made 20,000 USD when teens, from designing a San Fransisco traffic reporting application. It would have existed, and very successful, although some of the most basic functions of Windows wouldn't be implemented until later if at all.I'm sorry, but I doubt 1/2000 people in your town use a Mac. Most people use Windows because it's cheaper, and does the job well. Microsoft getting IBM was smart too, when MacOS just used Apple alone.
The only reason 90% of people use Microsoft is just that - 90% of people use it. If all your friends and family are using it you most likely will too because it's easy to communicate. For example I am the only one in my entire town who uses Apple Mac, out of 2000 people only 1 person uses it. However it doesn't mean they love Microsoft, they just think they have to use their stuff as everyone else is.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
Wow that's the best post i've ever seen
Repped.
I actually hate the fact that Apple just REMOVED of Microsoft and its products in EVERY advert they do, I am extremely surprises Microsoft let them do it to be honest.

Microsoft don't want to justify their stupidity. Apple is a company run by two year olds while Microsoft has adults, they just take the high ground and laugh at them![]()

Loool, Everyone getting in a proper debate over two different computers.
Every operating system has advantages and disadvantages..

There may be some good points to macs, but theres good points about windows too.
Personally i only like the look of the Macs because theyre modern and sleek.
If you have any queries or questions, just PM me!

The reason mac advertise is because it needs to, if it didn't it would be forgotten because they are rubbish. The only reason people buy them is because of the adverts. By making windows look bad people think macs are better. Get this, advertising is MADE to make you think they are better. All this rubbish of they are better for media is pure nonsense.

Actually some people purchase Macs because they like how they look, they want security upon purchase, they hate Windows, they want to have a different computer than friends, etc.. Though I agree with you about the adds, claiming that "Macs are better for gaming and office"I found, (and yes, I use MacOS and Windows) that the compatibility for Macs wasn't good. It's called Microsoft Office because Microsoft made it. I believe Microsoft wind the office round. As for games I was very disappointed to discover that many games didn't function while using MacOS. Flight Simulator, MapleStory, etc..You're also correct about Media. Though MacOS is good for media, Windows is equally good. The Mac advertisements are irrational. Windows does advertice abit but doesn't really need to, as HP, IBM, Acer, ASUS and so on do so for them.

I actually went into a Media suite at school today, on the new iMacs, not that old, a month or two, all running Leopard with respectable specs, and don't get me wrong, its a nice OS but only when it wasn't crashing.
Garageband was over rated and ended up using other software to make the music, The only good bit was when I used the Adobe Products.
And the thing that people keep getting wrong is that adobe is not just for mac and the people that get this in their heads think it is and get all wound up about it. Also isn't it annoying that you have to press a button on the keyboard to right click all the time?I actually went into a Media suite at school today, on the new iMacs, not that old, a month or two, all running Leopard with respectable specs, and don't get me wrong, its a nice OS but only when it wasn't crashing.
