New ISP, are these speeds any good?

In our area, were only limited to 1 internet provider (only area in UK which can only have 1).

Its a local provider, so not as many people connected.

Alright guys this is getting out of hand. EVERY thread with people asking if this is what speed they should be getting for their internet turns into a 'Post you own speed' thread. Stop showing your own speeds and answer his question.

No, he's asking if he should be getting that speed compared to the distance he is from the exchange. Also for what package he is on.

VM are good, im on the 20mb package but thsoe speeds are god for that package you're on!

It doesn't really matter if its good compared to anyone else, if it doesn't piss you off with slowness than its probably fine

give them a ring and make sure they're giving you what your line can handle, I did that and I get normally around 6mbps on the 8mbps package. They send 8mbps downstream.
