    Default DNS Problem

    Okay since I fixed my router problem, I now can't get on internet explorer for some reason

    I can't go on msn either its sayign theres a dns problem

    also I can only ping ips and not websites so it must be a dns problem

    Any help please?

    Have you by acny chance set your PC up to manually obtain an IP from the router rather than use DHCP? As you may haveleft the DNS server spaces blank.

    On my connection properties

    "Optain IP Address automatically" is selected
    "Optain DNS Server Address automatically" is selected

    and in advanced it says that DHCP is enabled

    Hmm i'm not sure then. Maybe someone else will have an idea.

    Steve,

    Just setup manual DNS - if you change the DNS services to be: 208.67.220.220, and 208.67.222.222 (these are provided by opendns.org) then it'll bypass your router for DNS, and SHOULD resolve the issue.

    Turn internet off for 30 seconds, reboot it.

    Then try to log in for MSN, and wait for that to fix it, OR click troubleshoot on internet settings.

    If all fails, call your provider.

    Go onto command prompt and type in 'ipconfig /flushdns'.

    That would be a waste because its probably some simple thing i need to do
