    I have the choice between 16GB or 32GB of ram, what is ram over 8GB good for..? It's DDR2

    What board is it going in?

    There's absolutely no point in that much unless it's in a server. Having that much may actually slow it down.

    Uhh what? It wont slow it down atall, go for 32GB if you feel so inclined.

    You won't need that much unless you're running a server, you will be wasting your money on more than 4GB really...

    Lol if you say so.

    Haveing more RAM will make the OS use more RAM, and since the bandwidth of the RAM is nothing special, just the standard DDR2 there will be more data going in and out on the same bandwidth.
