I don't have a virus that I know of but if in any doubt that I may have 1....

In norton antivirus, what is the best thing to do.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

Run in safe mode then do a virus scan
    or
Not run in safe mode then do a virus scan

I don't accept pm's, instead leave a message on my profile aka vistor message thing.

Norton is the worse anti virus, apart from the fact it fails, it also takes up a huge amount of RAM.

You have two options, depending on the virus (If you know what it is)
    1. Get a decent anti virus, I'd suggest AVG just to scan, don't keep it, it sucks.
    2. Then disconnect from the internet and scan, this is so if you have a RAT/keylogger/somthing which needs to send packets out, it can't.
    3. Run the anti virus scan.

    Or you can do this
    1. http://housecall.trendmicro.com
    2. Run the online anti virus scan.

AVG is terrible, it detects everything as a virus.

No, it dedected a application I coded as a virus, when it had a basic code within it, therefore it's detecting viruses which aren't there.

    So it fails.

    I don't.

    Don't post saying it's fine/good/whatever when it's not.
