    Default Vista = No Sound

    Recently my vista laptop isnt produing not sound via the speakers.

    There is sound being made but i cant hear none of it . It came on when i install my new usb mic ( which is capable*) with vista.

    So any help i could have would be very much apperiated.

    are you using Realtek?

    I know its going to sound stupid but have you turned the microphone sound on? Or have you turned the sound to the maximum minimum? Or you could just re-download you sound software and for, if your using a laptop, Conexant AC-Link Audio.

    I had this problem, you wkill need to download Realtek HD Manager.

    You can get it for free, Google search it.

    Realtek HD audio manager > Audio I/O > make sure you have the speakers active.

    if that doesn't work click the mixer tab and make sure the output has the volume up.

    I have a little red speaker icon on the right of my tool bar.

    Thats the other thing my control panel is mucked up.

    Saying i need to update to firebired 2.0 . But when i go on the site i cant find it.

    When i get the control panel working i will do that .
