I think you would know if it was broke. Your best of going the doctors to check it out, best thing you could do.

EDIT - I see you already have. Go for the broken knuckle and cant write story, teachers wont be entirly bothered. Just say you cant use it for a week. And yeh, a broken hand does hurt slightly.

Basically I had a fight and hit him on his head and really hurt my knuckle because I wasn't tensing my fist properly. It is the knuckle above my little finger and it has left a thin blue line down the side of my hand and a bit of brusing on the top. I can move my finger but it really hurts, is it broke?

I would imagine that you have just ripped some tissue in your hand, it repairs in about 6 weeks after the incident has occurred. There is nothing you can do about it really, just give it a lil' bit of a break.
