Hamiliton Spends 200 Grand on Number Plate saying LEW1S

You read right: Lewis Hamilton has splashed out more than £200,000 for the personalised number plate LEW 1S. He will now put the plate on his Mercedes 4×4. He can afford it, but if you want Grid Crasher’s opinion (here it comes, anyway), it’s probably one of the most idiotic ways to waste 200 grand we’ve ever heard of - although doubtless someone with even more money and less sense than Lewis will buy it off him in a few years time.

The exclusive plate was already owned by property tycoon Bob Lewis, who bought it for £50,000 last year and put it on his Mercedes. A friend of Mr Lewis said: “He loved that plate but business is business.”
Yeah, like he didn’t buy it with a view to selling it on to Hamilton. It was another nice little earner for Bob, who recently sold his £1m house in Jesmond to Newcastle Utd star Shola Ameobi.
