I was reading this pamphlet that came inside the NewScientist, which I subscribe to, and it says:
• Three times more men than women commit suicide
• More young men die by taking their own lives than in car accidents
• One in four people will have a serious mental illness during their lifetime (male&female)
• Every Day in the UK 15 people end their lives (Male & Female)
To be honest I was quite shocked at these statistics... I always thought car collisions were more common, but apparently not.
What do you people think about these numbers? Are they surprising to you?
