Make sure you seem confident than you really are, they usually say ring you in a few days or a week if they don't then you proberbly have not got the job. Interviews are nothing to get nearvous and worked up about. Make sure you dress smart but not too smart, good luck!

Like said before first impressions are important so a firm hand shake is vital when you first meet the person interviewing you. You should also try and prepare a few questions you'd want to ask them - this would impress the interviewer it shows you're interested in the job. I'd also try and memorise a few facts about the company you are hopeing to get a job with as again this shows you've done a little research and you're interested and they sometimes ask 'what do you know about the business'. Like said before wear smart clothes even if others turn up wearing jeans at least you seem to be serious about the job! Finally make sure you have plenty of eye contact with the interviewer and even if they are just talking to you which does not require any answers nod or make small comments to show you are paying attention and am interested..
I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

For my job at Tesco, I'd dropped in with my mates to pick up their paycheck and they offered me an interview there and then - I was in Skinny Jeans and a Track Jacket and done absolutely bugger all preperation... that was possibly the best improvisation I'd ever done =']

Be confident, chat with the interviewer and if you know it'll be a man doing it, don't be afraid to show a lil' cleavage

    Sell yourself really.
They basically want to know why you'd be good for the job, and therefore give them an easier job by hiring you.
So tell them how it would be better to have you around, you can say all the "ooh im dead good and intelligent" but it's about your level of understanding of how the real world is that will get you the job.

Not true. Where i got hired, some people that got hired were in Jeans. TBH its a hotel, maybe, trousers, shirt, tie, nice shoes. but dont wear a blazer its not casual enough for a hotel.

Questions - i asked 2, which was; what would i be doing, and, was a tie to much for this interview (to show humor)

Questions i was asked consisted of; name? medical problems? where do you see yourself in a few years? what can you offer?

all i can remember, bring a CV just incase they have misplaced yours. Shows organization.

    Dress smart/casual
Dont need to research, whats the point? It doesnt get you a job as you may not know what department your in.
Ask questions but dont bore the person
dont be afraid to say, i dont know what else to say
eye contact is important oh and mention its your first interview
When they say where u see yourself? Say i know i would start at the bottom but i want to work up to, or near to the top.
Say your willing to do a job even if that isnt your job
Say you want the "insert job description here" expierience
Mention that your motivated and easy going, say your a laid back kind of person.

think - what would i want to hear if i was a manager about to hire someone? but DONT oversell yourself, if you oversell then he will think your an arrogant twit

Be yourself, don't be scared to say it's your first interview, they will understand Here are a few questions that spring to mind, good luck

    Ask questions like:

Will I be on a trial period?
Will my salary be reviewed after my trial period?
How many people will I be working with?
    Are there busy periods here?
Are there opportunities for over time?
    Are there opportunities for promotion?
When do I get paid and how lol?

Asking questions shows you are interested and not just there for the money
It's the quality of your posts that count, not the quantity!

Dignity does not consist in possessing honours, but in deserving them.

I didn't say he wouldn't get hired if he's wearing jeans and stuff, I just said it'd give a good impression
