I run Vista on a Celeron M 430 @ 1.73Ghz, 1.5GB Ram and it is absolutely fine. Faster than XP.

Keep in mind I purchased this laptop over a year ago and for $400. I use a Aspire 9410 now (Intel Duo with 2.5GB ram). But you can't say do you honestly wonder why it wont run on a 1.8Ghz processor because I would think it should have atleast ran Basic ok. If you think 1.8Ghz is bad for a processor with Vista, the HTC UMPC had 800Mhz and came with Vista Business.

Oh so I can run Vista Premium better on a one core 800MHZ system if it had 4GB ram, better than I could run it on a Quad Core with 1GB ram:rolleyes:?

I know it's not all about the processor, but it is a pretty big factor.

Expect this to be the last ever Windows OS. Microsoft is moving away from Windows and are going to start a new OS project called, "Midori". This is the change Microsoft has been needing, and until Midori is released I'm sticking to Mac OS X and Ubuntu.
