Brain development (even shape and size) can be controlled by environment though, depending on what different people do and how they respond to various things emotionally and all that. Also children from the same family are still different people, so the events that happen in their lives (assuming that somehow someone can experience exactly the same as their sibling and not have any different things happen to them) can still change a person in different ways.
The only "genetic" thing about being gay is that we as humans have the capability to love at all, as opposed to non-human animals which aren't sentient, and only express homosexual behaviour when there's massive overpopulation in an area and is done for preservation of species.
