I'm not trying to 'spam' your thread at all but:

Get past the vBulletin phase. There are some good free forum softwares around that with proper skinning can look like a vB (if that's the problem with switching). Try it out, all fansites don't have to have a vB to become popular (or w/e). I've seen a site runnning SMF with a better skin than most of the other vB forums.

I have to say why do people like VB its why over rated and over priced you can find better forum softwares out there that are not blosted with crap and are free like Imperialbb v1 that is in the making its just like VB but better and mybb is like VB and its free.

You sir, speak sense. I love IPB more than VBulletin but it seems everyone uses VBulletin nowadays. It's rather annoying, but hey InvisionFree (Now ZetaBoards?) is pretty damn good. It doesn't have your rep crap and all that but if you're good at Javascript and CSS, you can pretty much get it looking awesome.

OOOF SMF is really good, that's got alot of features for free, I LOVED SMF at one point. Fell in love I did... Heh, but yeee VBulletin is overrated & no-one will give you one for free anyway. Just buy an owned license, lazy ***.
