    Default Make Bumping Impossible?

Is there a way to have threads closed after the 7 days? Because I posted in a thread approximately 1 hour after the 7 day deadline and got warned in a PM to not bump threads. Maybe MOD's can lock the threads? Because it's kind of annoying when a warning comes to hours/minutes. If you don't want bumping after 7 days.. Lock it?

    Thanks!

I never look at how long ago thread were made so maybe it would be made easyer not to close them but only ofc if it is automatic otherwise they would have to go round closing a hell of a lot of threads

If they made it automatic then yeh maybe that's a good idea.

Becuase some people don't look at dates/time it was posted like me,
I posted in the articles (I think) or something section and there was only a very short list of threads so I posted in one of them and then got a warning and -15 rep :@

If it's an automatic close after a certain time - Yes.
If the MOD's have to go around closing them - No, It'll be too much work for them.

No, sometimes you need to bump and update threads instead of creating new threads and losing the discussions that were in the previous ones. There's no point closing them at all. If you bump and you have a valid reason to do so then I'm sure the thread will stay open and you won't be punished.

There is no set amount of days to not bump a thread, it all depends on the subject the thread relates to. If it is short term, bumping a thread could mean 3 days after the last post, while a long term subject could be bumpable after a month depending if the thread maker is partaking in an event and can't given a conclusion on the matter after the event has passed. In most cases, people getting told off for bumping should not of been told off in the first place... What thread was this?

It would take way too long to go around closing all the threads lol, like already said some can be posted in after a while has passed.

You shouldn't have got warned for that. The limit is 10 days not 7 days.

"B10. Do not bump threads - It is not allowed to bump up a thread. Simply wait for someone to reply instead. If the thread is old, make a new thread instead. You can reply to an inactive thread as long as the last post was made less than or exactly 10 days ago."
