I don't really like the idea of a custom forum tbh, as that would require a lot of work in securing it, and making sure that it isn't prone to attacks.

As well as having to integrate all the features we want, which just takes up more time, when we could use a forum which already has those features in them :]

True. But you know how easy it is to make a quick little forum, perhaps use ready made software at the start (vB,IPB) whilst building your own one? Would really do wonders for the site as you're using a different type of software.

I really think an IPB forum for sayDEV would be good. A nice greyish skin like the default IPB skin would be great and look very professional.
