Would prefixes help organise the hosting forum? It would make things easier to see IMO.

Whilst we're at it - can you merge web hosts and online radios together or make online radios a sub-forum in a web hosts forum and leave the web market for people actually selling things other than hosting because everything just gets drowned out by by someone advertising their host which happens every 2 minutes.
It seems logical and doesn't require adding more forums.
In my opinion i think we should have the prefix [request] added but also a new forum for maybe coupons and/ or testimonials so a thread could be posted and testimonials of that company could be added aswell instead of the large range of threads in the one forum. This is because the webhost forum has become pretty big and causes quite a lot of chasos at times but with the new implemant it would be easier to track spam and arguments.
This would, again, be an idea that i think would benefit the forum.Whilst we're at it - can you merge web hosts and online radios together or make online radios a sub-forum in a web hosts forum and leave the web market for people actually selling things other than hosting because everything just gets drowned out by by someone advertising their host which happens every 2 minutes.

I don't see any harm being done, it's possible in the top 5 forums for having the most posts with no sub forum, when in all fairness you could have over 20 forums related to web hosting, I think an extra promotion forum would cover basically most of these.
Main forum:
Web Host- General chat about them, nothing promotional wise, just chatting about experinces, software you could use etc
Sub forums:
Promotions
- Where companies can then add coupons, and then prefixes would delete expired (as Karl stated) and replace with new ones from x companies.
Request Hosting
- Where people may request a service and people may reply with recommendations.
Radio's (Relating to Xvisor idea)
- Where you can chat about them, sell them, request them etc. As it all is basically part of a web hosting service.
That's how I would put the structure if I had the choice.
Agreed. It would be a good idea and it suits it.Whilst we're at it - can you merge web hosts and online radios together or make online radios a sub-forum in a web hosts forum and leave the web market for people actually selling things other than hosting because everything just gets drowned out by by someone advertising their host which happens every 2 minutes.

Hi
I like the idea but couldn't the "request hosting" subforum just be part of the Web Hosting but as a prefix though? I don't personally think a separate subforum is needed for requests? As for companies promoting their offers this would come under promotions I presume (not just coupons and stuff?).I don't see any harm being done, it's possible in the top 5 forums for having the most posts with no sub forum, when in all fairness you could have over 20 forums related to web hosting, I think an extra promotion forum would cover basically most of these.

Personally wouldn't it be easy just to have prefixes for requests and promotions and possibly have a subforum for radios? It really depends on if it is too muddled up at the moment and I don't see why people requesting hosting and people promoting it couldn't post in the same forum - it should be pretty easy to see what is what and with prefixes it would be even more straight forward I think. If requests and promotions are part of the same forum and not subforums then it makes it even easier to browse for those selling services and those buying things. I do agree radios should be made a subforum of Web Hosting as that is a separate service but I'm not 100% sure on adding the other two subforums.
In regards to what you've said there. Could it be a possibility to enforce a rule for the maximum number of times a user can post an advertisement? That way people couldn't flood the forum as much? In my opinion the Web Hosts section should be there for posting advertisements about hosts and I like the idea of Online Radios as a subforum. I agree that the Web Market should really be for people selling layouts and other things and Web Hosts should be for selling web hosting - it makes sense?Whilst we're at it - can you merge web hosts and online radios together or make online radios a sub-forum in a web hosts forum and leave the web market for people actually selling things other than hosting because everything just gets drowned out by by someone advertising their host which happens every 2 minutes.

That's what I said?
- Web Market
- Web Hosts
-- Online Radios
I guess when you put it that way it works out.I like the idea but couldn't the "request hosting" subforum just be part of the Web Hosting but as a prefix though? I was thinking if people want specific hosting needs, or even free hosting, they could just post it in relation to the Request hosting sub forum, not all service or specific needs are posted in the promotion area, unless the promotion forum would include both the promotions and requests?Personally wouldn't it be easy just to have prefixes for requests and promotions and possibly have a subforum for radios? Hi
Oh right sorry.I agree then yeah.
It seems to sort of over complicate things when It could all just be posted in the Web Hosts section and could include prefixes if needed in my opinion. I don't think separate subforums are required but that is just my opinion.I was thinking if people want specific hosting needs, or even free hosting, they could just post it in relation to the Request hosting sub forum, not all service or specific needs are posted in the promotion area, unless the promotion forum would include both the promotions and requests?

As it would be a subforum under the webhost section i don't really see it a problem as it would de clutter the forum but would not affect people on the main forum screen as it would be hidden within the webhost forum.
It would also provide a better experience for the large amount of webhosters in my opinion.
Something needs doing with the webhost forum anyway due to the ammount of trolling because of the reasons posted.
