    Hey,

    I was at the shops today, and i bought the nVidia 8500GT Super+ 1GB 128bit DDR2, with Dual-link DVI and TV-Output.

For just 45 pounds. I can't put it in yet because im not at home (On holiday ) And I was wondering if its good because i have a Dell Inspiron with a 300W PSU.

    Thanks,
    Chris

It should run, however if there was the option of getting the 512MB version for cheaper, you should have gone with that.

    The 8500Gt doesn't need 1GB. It's not a particularly good card.

You could play crysis on the 6800 with 256MB, playing it well is another thing.

i have the same card but the 512mb version... its fairly decent...

however i would of personally went the extra £5 and got the 9500GT (the replacement card for the 8500 and the 8600).. but thats just me.

youll also need to consider buying a new PSU (Power Supply Unit) as mine old PSU was a standard 300w PSU and believe me theres no chance it would of run the graphics card....

so unless you want problems, upgrade your PSU

300w is perfectly fine for the 8500GT.
