Russia will nuke Poland

RUSSIA threatened to NUKE Poland yesterday as the world faced the prospect of a terrifying new Cold War.

The chilling threat was issued by a top general of Vladimir Putin amid mounting tensions over the war in Georgia.

Gen Anatoly Nogovitsy lashed out after Poland agreed to help the US create a “missile shield” over Europe. He said: “Poland is making itself a target. Such targets are destroyed as a first priority.”

Gen Nogovitsy stressed Moscow was ready to use nuclear weapons “against allies of countries having nuclear weapons if they in some way help them”. Russia is furious Poland has said the US can put an interceptor base and a battery of Patriot missiles on its territory.

President Dmitry Medvedev, ruling under the direction of predecessor Mr Putin, said the missile defences were aimed at Russia.

He branded US claims that they are a deterrent against rogue states “a fairy tale”.

That's disgusting. I think it's unlikely it'll happen but if it did it could mark the end of the world as we know it - A nuclear war would be negatively catastrophic.

Well frankly I think they're within their rights to nuke Poland as America should keep it's nose out of Europe. When Russia went poking around the Americas (Cuba) the US sealed off Cuba and threatened nuclear action so what do they expect.

The American's and Polish have been warned, they're asking for trouble if they go ahead with their ridiculous plans. I'd like to think the US are our allies but history comes into play and the American's shouldn't have missiles there. If Poland wants to go ahead and get all it's people killed it's going the right way about it.

Has Poland now cancelled the plans? I cannot seem to find anything on what Poland says about this. If a nuke did hit Poland, would we hear it in England or would it affect us?

In one respect, I can see why Russia are annoyed. The US don't need to touch Europe, Europe is perfectly fine without them. But I can also respect why America have these bizarre plans, because Russia is kinda proving it's a vicious country threatening to nuke 1 country with about 99% of the population who are innocent citizens (maybe more).

On a serious note, I think its all threats. If they were going to do it they would of done it already.
