There is a difference, the issue of liability.
Sierk is very serious about internet security, and it was hard fought to even allow links. We are certainly not dealing with having images hosted on our forums or displayed on them. There are also lots of additional issues the AGMs have come up with, but I don't really think its necessary to go through them all as they're nuances really.
I don't see it as a huge inconvenience, sorry to be so unyielding on this one but no, case closed![]()

How is posting an image of yourself a security threat? You can't do anything with a picture of someone, you can't find someone even with their location AND a picture, it's impossible and even if they do, what could happen? Not alot, and the chances of someone even bothering to locate someone by travelling miles to hunt them down seem highly unlikely. If a paedo or anyone else for that matter wants a victim, they'll do it in their local area. Heck, loads of members on this forum have seen pictures of each other and I know one particular member who has stalked another member while they were at workThere is a difference, the issue of liability.

The arguments against this seem odd and loose. I don't see any harm in people posting pictures of themselves, especially when most people will edit their picture heavily. If people are being bullied, who really is the problem? The person bullying, who thinks 'x' member looks chubby... So? They're human, and they probably haven't criticised you so why do you need to bully? Most forums even stress that bullies are the low life scum for bullying anyway, and will belittle the bully and make them feel pathetic. It's part of growing up to belittle bullies anyway, that's what some schools do and they can't get in trouble because there is no harm done and no name calling, because you're stressing that bullying is pathetic, not the actual bully and the bully will learn. Banning, putting them in attention or expelling them will not make them learn. Mental action is needed, action that shows the bully how pathetic bullying is, not a light PM which is possibly automatic telling them to behave in a 5 year old manner - they're teens! They need more than that, you need to criticise them as they criticise another, but criticising their pathetic attempts to criticise a member for their looks - their attempts to bully need to be targeted. Banning them is even an option... Similar to expelling, they will not learn, especially when banning is directed at the member, while expelling involves whoever pays the bills for the education. I'm not sure what happened to deep, personal PMs telling members to grow up, the minimum age on this forum is about 11 or 12 (judging that it is following the Habbo Way and their minimum age is around those ages), Year 7s get treated poorly when they bully, so why act worse than education? I'm sure I've been stressing this for years on this forum, ever since Seacat and JackHb quit.
Bullies only bully on this forum because they get away with it, you don't seem to practice the "kiss and make up" stratedgy. You just infract and leave it, when you should PM the member personally and tell them to PM the other member and tell the two that there's no need for this behaviour. I remember school and being a prefect, Year 7s were treated with this and it worked, but then again I am mean
I am also yet to see the rules updated big time, there's too many rules which already fit into catagories. vbulletin have smaller rules on their forum, and they actually make sense...

That's as far as I got before getting confused with the amount of repetitionHTML Code:<b>When using www.habbox.com and www.habboxforum.com you must follow the Habbo Way as well as our rules that we have to keep the main site and forum running as well as they do.</b> <center><font size="5"><b>General Forum Rules:</b></font> <i>These are the rules everyone has to follow and on all parts of Habbox and Habbox Forum</i></center> A1. Respect other people's views - Debates and discussions are acceptable, but bullying, rudeness, swearing, name calling, insulting posts, trolling and personal attacks are not tolerated. A2. Do not pointlessly post - This means posting off topic or posting replies that do not have anything to do with the thread. This also means making multiple posts within the allowed edit time. Posting in a foreign language is pointless posting, unless they are well known words and phrases, and are posted in the education and VIP forums. A3. Do not talk about adult subjects - This includes making love, sexual intercourse or sexual details about anyone or anything. A4. Do not spam or advertise - It is not allowed to spam the Private Messaging System with pointless posts or advertisements. A5. Do not discuss illegal activities - This means it is not allowed to discuss hacking, scripting or malicious programs. It is not allowed to name anyone for these activities, with or without proof. A6. Do not post or link to obscene or inappropriate websites, images or videos - This means anything that is not appropriate for anyone ages 11. Anything containing swearing must have a warning on the post/topic. A7. Do not quote, link or post personal information - It is not allowed to link to your's or other members profile sites e.g. Myspace, Facebook or photos or videos, with or without permission. It is not allowed to tell anyone any details about yourself or anybody else e.g. their age, location or full name, with or without permission. This includes using the [img] tags and upload system. A8. Do not quote, link or post private/un-seen information about Habbo Hotel, as stated in the Habbo and Fansite Ways. A10. Do not organise meetings in real life - You can never be certain that it is safe to do so. A9. It is not allowed to encourage others to break the forum rules or to break the law. A11. Do not comment on others breaking the forum rules - This IS pointless posting. If someone is breaking the rules, report them. A12. Do not quotes private messages, private conversations, staff threads/posts or comments made with the Rep System, without permission. <i><b>Any posts/threads that break any of these rules will be removed. Further breaking of these rules will end up with a suitable punishment against the offender.</b></i> <center><font size="5"><b>Forum Posting Rules:</b></font> <i>These rules outline what is NOT allowed when posting on the forums and the threads.</i></center> B1. Don't post for the sake of your post count - The forum is for friendly discussions and to share interests and hobbies. Post counts don't mean anything and won't earn you anymore respect. It is the quality that matters. B2. Multiple Posting - Multiple posting is allowed after the 15 minutes edit time has passed only if you are adding new information. Otherwise it is not allowed to double/multiple post. B3. Do not ignore warnings - It is important that you take any warning seriously that a Forum Moderator or Administrator sends you by Personal Message. B5. Do NOT give pointless reputation - There are many reasons to give good reputation points. The post may have helped you, had been well written or be a very good reply. Giving rep points to others just because its a friend or negative reputation points just because you don't like somebody will not be tolerated. Giving bad reputation points when not called for or without a reason is also not tolerated. Anybody caught doing this may get a big reduction to their rep points or worse! B6. When in the Competition Forum only post competition entries - Do not post questions or comments it is not the place to do so. B7. When posting in the news and rumours forum do not post things that you know are not true - This includes posting fake screen shots and your own made up stories. B8. Do not post any advertisements for anything illegal or what would be considered inappropriate for anybody from 11 years old up wards - Habbo Hotel is aimed at people aged 11 years old or over so we do not want anything to offend anybody in anyway. B9. Do not ask for reputations points directly or indirectly - Do not make a post or a thread or send a pm asking for someone to give you reputation points. This also holds for your signature. B10. Do not bump threads - It is not allowed to bump up a thread. Simply wait for someone to reply instead. If the thread is old, make a new thread instead. You can reply to an inactive thread as long as the last post was made less than or exactly 10 days ago. B11. Do not make threads titles which have no relevance to the actual post - Do not make thread with titles like "see this" or "something interesting" or something similar to these. Put a title which is relevant to the thread and not something completely different. <center><font size="5"><b>User Account and Profile Information:</b></font> <i>The information below underlines information that can be added to your profile account.</i></center> C1. Forum name may be anything at registration, as long as it is acceptable by management and doesn't contain swearing. C2. Do not pretend to work for Habbox, on this forum or anywhere else (including Habbo Hotel). C3. Do not put more than 30 characters in your Location for your profile. C4. Limit the size of pictures in your signature. Forum members and VIP members must abide by the <a href="http://www.habboxforum.com/faq.php?faq=new_faq_item1#faq_new_faq_item3"/>Avatar and Signature Settings</a> set by management. C5. VIP members are not allowed a usertitle which cause a scroll bar when you send a Private Message. If it does, you must put <br> in the appropriate area, to cause a link break.. C6. Do not sell, trade, donate, share or buy forum accounts C7. Do not have your signature font any bigger than size 4. This is to prevent big signatures. C8. Only put images URLs in [img] tags. Valid extensions are .png, .gif, .jpeg etc. You should not use a URL between image tags to do things such as log people out, increase profile views, or change their skins.
Also, just use bold text when doing the rules, not bold and red. It's a forum, not a detention facility underline rules which you must obey or you get the death sentence sooner than later.

No, you're all way too ugly. In all seriousness, at the end of the day I think it should be up to the user whether they want to or not. Nobody will ever force anyone to post or not to post. If Habbo allow it then it's clear there are no serious threats because otherwise they wouldn't allow it. It doesn't really affect any of us drastically anyway.
If we are allowed to do it, please don't have your pic in your avatar because that would stop me from coming on the forum alltogether. No, you're all way too ugly. We should be able to post ourselves if we want to.
I agree with Nvr here. Allowing users to post photographs opens up a whole load of issues and simply it'd be setting ourselves up with an influx of trolling and bullying. Yes there are moderators to deal with that but then you have the issue of security regarding underage member's identities.
I think it should stay as it is.
but at the end of the day you're just posting a link to your photo so you can still get bullied, lol.
