Im tremendously grateful for living here. I could be living in Darfur or something. the UK is rich, we are (reasonably) powerful and we got fish 'n' chips. ^_^ ok, we're not perfect but no country is. yeah the weathers not great, so what! put on a sweater, buy a coat! it's worth it.

I'm in incredibly patriotic person I think England is the most fantastic country in the world. I've been on holiday to spain before and yes it's a very nice place.. but I dunno why I just find spanish people as a whole to be quite rude. Here's an example.. when I was in a super market in marbella all of the english tourists chavs, OAPs, the middle class, and rich people alike all were standing in line waiting to be served at the checkouts. This spanish woman obivously didn't feel like waiting she pushed to the front shouting something about having a small child and needing to go first.. bearing in mind she pushed past about three other families with small kids.. sure that could have been a one off but the exact same thing happened when we were in line trying to get a table in a restuarent and when we were standing in line boarding the plane on the way home.. This is not only the case in spain I found the americans do it in florida when I went to disney world, the french do it and many other countries aswell.... in fact the only place I don't think I've ever had this is in england..

I'm trying to say it's not the police or the goverment who make a country great it's the people that live there and I've gotta say sure we have our fair share of gang crime, political problems and terror threats but man us english are sure polite folk =]
I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

I voted unsure. On one hand, it has these so called 'chavs' and a rather high knife and gun crime rate. On the other hand, we could be living in somewhere like the poor parts of Africa. I guess we should be grateful for what we have

What you have to remember though is that these killings are escalated by the media and the crime rate isn't as high as you would think.

but DJ-Dominator, just look at every post you have made. For most of them, somebody has proved you wrong. You keep coming up with excuses and are too ignorant to know you are wrong.

I respect you. I totally agree we are lucky to atleast be in a country where you are not living on the streets and have dirty water.

England is now full of gangs, and immigrants that are lazy *TEXT REMOVED* living off benefits. The weather is clearly ****e, and the country is becoming way to over crowded. The cost of living is ridiculous now, and half the people, think they are all it, and may aswell all go and die. Also the goverment is so 'We need money and power' it is untrue. I mean all that they ever care about is what America do, the UK is like America's ******* kids.

Do you agree, that England is a ****e place to live now?

    Thanks,

    Dom

I kinda forgot where this thread was going, so i'ma gonna revert back to your original argument and try to persuade you that some of your points are wrong.

England is full of gangs. Ok possibly true, i wouldn't say full of, i say it's just as full as it always has been, as many other places always have also. Chavs are the new hippy's ask anyone over 40.

You can't say there are loads of immigrants that are lazy and live off benefits, cause it's just not true. It's fact that the UK economy would be nothing without the Immigrants that come into the UK. Like someone else pointed out, you can't just come to the country and live off benefits, you have to get a job, and most of the time the jobs are the ones that nobody wants to too, i respect the people coming in from other countries. I don't like to call them immigrants because the word is perceived as being bad. Now if you're referring to illegal immigrants i totally agree with you.

The Uk isn't becoming overcrowded, try living in asia. Or just move to wales?

The cost of living is rising, yeah. So is the rest of the world, you can criticize the world economy all you want but you can't blame the UK for this, and say that this isn't happening anywhere else, because it is.

'half the people, think they are all it, and may aswell all go and die'
You can't blame people for having a go at you saying you're too young to know about anything when you go and say things like that. I disagree with the people saying you're only 14 because i think you're right, it's about opinion, and it's good that you do actually have an opinion, even if you do need to be educated more. I don't know what you define as 'think they're all it' but where i'm from i'd say about 5% of the population of my school and college think they're all it. I don't think thats a rising problem in the UK, it's a fact of life that you'll get wherever you are.

I'm not an expert in politics but i'm pretty sure the government don't think 'we need money and power'. I do know that they try to do their best for the people. If you want to criticize them for anything i'd do it for them being s****, and out of touch with the rest of the country, you may have an argument there.

And the whole UK-America thing is just silly, just because we helped stabilize countries they were fighting in, it doesn't mean we love them. Even if Tony Blair did fancy georgie boy.

i think im done for now

I also disagree about the UK-America, as imo we might aswell be their slaves, but i 100% agree about the Blair-Bush bit, that made me laugh

England is a nice country. Sometimes I'd say that I'd swap it for scrabble but it's not that bad, but Gordon brown he is an ******** lol. As for the credit crunch, shop at home bargains lol

I prefer Spain for the beaches, weather, cheaper and I love it but thats me. I'd love to visit other countries aswell Florida is nice, but i've heard about hurricanes so nooo lool. Cyprus seems nice too and australia but the big brother there is bad lol. Anyway I still think England is ok for me for the time-being but not forever noo, it just brings me down sometimes like the murders and chavs but thats life. BRITAIN IS AWESOME STILL, but the various parts are bad. This is my opinion so sorry if you disagree, the first chance I get to move to Spain or a nice abroad country i'll take it lol.

Wow thats the most i've ever wrote lol.

I dislike what England has become, but Spain? No thanks. And the reason for that - The English have taken over it - you certainly don't want to be near Madrid or Barcelona, or any city over there, not anymore.
