    If its an old DVD player it will have something in the firmware to stop you playing DVD's that don't have any country code on them.
    Lets set the stage on fire, and hollywood will be jealous.

    I think is the problem while making avi to dvd with convert x todvd

    I have great success using total video2dvd which supports avi, mkv, TS to DVD directly. very easy to use.

    Depends what country your from?

    PAL is the european format and the American one is something which I forget, mainly because I don't need it

    But yeah, check you used the right format with the right dvd player?
