Bare in mind though you'd still need Windows XP on top of it, I don't think they sell OEM copies any more but I do know packard bell do a reasonable netbook with XP for about 280 quid, I'm on my phone atm but you should be able to find it on the PC World site. Of course you could just torrent the OS.

If you want to watch lots of films, bare in mind its reasonably low battery life and the SSD models don't have much space for the movies (Dunno if it has a DVD drive tbh). Also on the majority of planes you can't use any electrical devices anyway...
    What since when? :S

All i can say is do what you told me to do and go for the 901. Compact and it has a 1.6Ghz atom cpu, 12GB hdd with xp. Also buy a 16GB or 32GB class 6 SDHC on top of that.

901 = king of netbooks. Also the 901 has the 6 cell battery meaning 6 hours of battery life

If I get the Windows one I can put Linux on it and still have the XP Licnese for it if I want to, but I would keep XP tbh.

My dad has used his UMPC on landing into Luton and Arricife with Thomson and they didn't give a crap

Only bad point with the eee is that the keyboard takes a while to get used to

Nooooooooo, the dell has a shorter battery life than the eee and it doesn't come with bluetooth or webcam as standard
