Yeah I had that problem with the old NTL modem. I just phoned them up and they sent out a new one free of charge. I take it you aren't on the fibre optic service yet?
Possibly, i so want fiber optic fgs we've had this modem since the old house, yet weve had a new connection fitted in (when we brought the house, we had to get NTL re installed) but yeh..
When i get it - what speeds should i normally be reaching? i mean - should i be able to play warcraft and download a torrent without and majour latency problems?
Mines been fine, although I'm on the cable service with up to 20mb.

And just to let you know it's fibre optic to the telephone exchange for every ADSL ISP as well. Also, it's BT who are doing that not Virgin Media.
