No not realy, think of it as one of these:
I have one and i've been able to use it to take sound from a headphone socket to a speaker, and take sound from a mixer to a Line in.
    So go's both ways

The cable doesn't determine which way the data goes, the devices do, since TVs don't output on SCART, but your Mac does output on VGA, it will be fine.

Have any of the people who replied to this question actually ever looked at a VGA cable from a monitor? It's a male connection. The connection in that Amazon image is also a male connection. You cannot connect male to male, it can't be done. Seriously, I can't believe I just signed up for HabboX just to tell you that. So, yes, the cable does determine which way data flows in this case. I've never heard of converting a VGA signal to SCART but your best bet is probably Ebay.

The data can flow either way in both a scart and a VGA cable, so i don't see how a combination of the two in one cable will affect it. Monitors have a female port.

Just to let you know though, it probably won't be very good quality.

Yeah, it was only after I hit post that I realised what I'd written. :BangHead:

For some reason I was thinking this was going from monitor to TV. I have no idea why (can we blame it on tiredness?).

It was only after I posted that it struck me and my posts have to be verified by a moderator so I couldn't edit it. Humour me, I feel like a fool.
