I reckon it has something to do with the accounts username. Perhaps an uninformed admin assumed it was a bot that management had created to serve some sort of purpose.

They probley didn't consider it to be member created and therefore wouldn't have checked IPs either. Additionally assuming Shane's IP is dynamic like most people and based on the fact that the account is old the IP could have been used by many members of the forum, the same as any other IP used on the forum. An admin may have actually thought it was a HXF bot and decieded to look on it or something!
