    Default Wireless Keyboard & Mouse

Plug in the USB adapter, says new hardware found.

However I can't click on Install because it won't function, if that makes sense?

    Yeah it is XP.

There was no disk that came with it, and I don't have another mouse.

Hold the button down for 5 seconds and it'll turn the machine off, it's not ideal or recommended but it is for sticky situations, or you could reach for the plug.

Anyway how are you posting on the forum if you have no alternatives?
