If you go to the place where you meet that woman and need to get blacksmith job there should be a stall somewhere where you can buy a cheap ring Then you officialy get married when you buy a house.

I married a stuck up cow, she wouldn't accept beggars ring I found for her, so I went to market town n bought ring. Then we got married, had a lil baby and I got 5 star woodcutting, and bought out the pub for 60,000
